Grievance Committee
What the Grievance Committee does: The job of this committee is to see that the Co-op by-laws and rules and regulations are adhered to. The Grievance Committee does not make up these by-laws or rules and regulations nor do we want to police them but as volunteer committee members, it is our job to see that the by-laws and rules and regulations are adhered to by all members, guests and visitors. As you all know, the rules and regulations are determined by the Co-op members by a majority vote at the annual meeting. We meet as needed and with at least 1 member representing the committee at potential new member interviews. We meet more frequently, if the need arises, particularly if a grievance is of particular urgency such as a safety issue or an emergency. The committee receives complaints/violation information and performs necessary steps to rectify the matter. Grievances are presented to the Board of Directors to keep them informed and for clarification and resolution if needed, along with recommendations to the Board when a member home remains out of compliance.
Written grievances can be given to any of the grievance committee members but our preferred method is via the grievance box located under the bulletin board at the clubhouse or via email at campsargent.grievances@gmail.com. Grievances can be submitted anonymously. Our policy is not to take a grievance via a phone conversation as they can be misinterpreted in the translation. By writing your grievance on paper we also have the beginnings of a log that we can follow to completion.
