Three juveniles have been charged with animal cruelty and criminal mischief after two puppies were found beaten to death in Kivalina, Alaska State Troopers said. Troopers say someone told them about the dead dogs found outside an abandoned house.

Kivalina is a village of about 390, located 80 miles northwest of Kotzebue.

The names and ages of the suspects have not been released. The charges have been forwarded to juvenile authorities, troopers said.
