30-year old Arabian horse found abandoned behind Bithlo Home

Bithlo, FL

July 13, 2006

Bithlo Animal Cruelty Officers found a 30-year old Arabian horse abandoned behind a Bithlo home in east Orange County.  The horse had been left abandoned for months.  On Thursday, July 13th, the Arabian named Moe was rescued.

Moe’s previous owner sold the land and left him behind.  The brush was so high and thick; nobody knew he was there.  He is 200-300 pounds underweight.

Paula Fulton has volunteered to give Moe the second chance she believes he deserves. She is determined to nurse him back to health.  Moe has a spirit so strong that after being walked to Fulton’s trailer, he refused to get in and after a misstep, fell down and refused to get up.  Jake White of the SPCA believes that the ‘spirit is still there’.

Moe’s original owner is now in North Carolina but she still faces charges for animal neglect. Moe is now at his new home in west Orange County.
