6-month old puppy rescued from refuse compactor

A 6-month old puppy was found and rescued by maintenance personnel in a refuse compactor at the bottom of a trash chute, after plunging eight stories within the apartment building at Briarcliff Summit Apartments in northeast Atlanta today.  The workers were alerted by the puppy’s whimpering as the compactor was crushing it.

Fulton County Animal Control was notified and the puppy was transferred to Dr. Good’s veterinary clinic in Marietta.  The puppy sustained many bruises and a broken leg.

Fulton County Animal Services is conducting an animal cruelty investigation, but have no suspects yet.
