A 26-year-old man who spanked his cat December 14th could face animal cruelty charges.  Police said the man called them to his home in the 5000 block of S. Nicholson Ave. because he thought he might have broken his cat's leg.  The man told police that he spanked the cat when the animal would not allow itself to be petted and bit him.  After "apologizing" to the cat, the man said he again tried to pet the animal and was again rejected, a police report says.  So he threw the cat.
