Rice, age 53 of 18 Zabriske Dr. Newburyport, MA was charged with drunk driving after losing control of his car and crashing into a chicken coop, killing 20 chickens and roosters.

Rice was speeding when he lost control and drove through the grass median, and across the eastbound lane of Route 107 before going airborne, after hitting the center median and guardrail.

Rice had to be cut from the wreckage.  He was arrested for aggravated DWI and reckless conduct and released from custody on $1000 personal recognizance bail.  He is scheduled to appear in Hampton District Court on June 15 at 8am.
