Pasadena police arrested a man for killing a cat by setting it on fire.

Danny Villalta is charged with cruelty to animals. An eyewitness told police Villalta set the cat on fire and left it in a parking lot at an apartment complex on Red Bluff. The incident happened at 11:30pm Tuesday.
Villalta is being held on $5,000 bond.
Update 3/19/08: A Pasadena man is going to prison for killing his neighbor's cat. Villalta pleaded guilty to a charge of cruelty to animals for setting the cat on fire.
Villalta was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
Police say the woman who owns the cat saw him set it on fire in the courtyard of their Pasadena apartment complex.
The cat didn't survive.
Villalta fled the area, but police were able to identify him with the help of other tenants.
