A 911 call from a motorist who witnessed a man kicking his leashed dog in the head and body beside Route 17A at the entrance to the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY, led to the arrest of Efrain Torres, Jr. of Tuckahoe, NY. The 8-month old Tibetan Mastiff puppy was bleeding from the mouth when police arrived. Torres, 44, stated he had stopped to discipline his dog.
Tuxedo Police found three freezer bags (1.7 lbs) stuffed with marijuana and an illegal gravity knife in Torres’ car. He was charged with felony marijuana possession and misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and weapon possession. After posting a $7,500 cash bail, he was released. Torres is due in court on Tuesday, July 25th.
