An Iberia Parish couple have been arrested and charged with narcotics charges and dogfighting according to Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputies.

Deputies say agents with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division arrested Hamilton Green and his wife Jacqueline Green today after a search warrant on Joseph Earl Drive after a two week investigation. During a search warrant, agents say they located crack cocaine, marijuana, 2 handguns (1 reported stolen), 21 pit bulls, equipment used to breed, train and fight dogs. The street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $1500, deputies say. Several of the dogs appeared to be injured from recent fights, according to deputies.

Both husband and wife were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail and the dogs were taken into custody by Iberia Parish Animal Control, according to deputies.

Hamilton Green was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule I and II narcotics, second subsequent offense, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, possession of a stolen firearm and dog fighting.

Jacqueline Green was charged with possession of schedule I and II with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a stolen firearm and dog fighting.
