Joshua Hobbs shot neighbors dog in the eye, dog survives but looses eye

At 10 p.m. June 7, troopers received a report of animal cruelty on South Birch Cove Drive.

Investigation revealed Joshua Hobbs , 29, of Wasilla had shot with a pellet gun a neighbor's dog that was in his yard. The pellet struck the dog in the eye, causing severe damage to the eye.

The dog's owner, Kerry McGinty, 54 of Wasilla took his dog to the vet. The vet expects the dog will lose the eye. Charges of cruelty to animals against Hobbs will be forwarded to the district attorney's office.
