Dec. 4, 1999 |
Caram, age 26 and Carrillo, age 24 of 954-3 Quarter Rd, Stoneville, NC are accused of stealing two 4-month-old red-nosed American pit bull terrier puppies from Karyl Cohen of Goffstown. The two pups, Gonzo Jr. and Moomoo were 2 of a litter of 12 born to the family dog Lexi in August.
Caram and Carrillo came to see the puppies and expressed an interest in purchasing them. Cohen wouldn't sell the puppies to the pair so they left angry. Two days later when Cohen came home from work found the 2 pups gone. Cohen called the police and mentioned the two men that they had North Carolina plates on their car and that they were staying in a Nashua hotel. The police found the car at the Red Roof Inn.
At 9:55pm. The police knocked at the men's door and found the men and the pups. Caram and Carrillo were charged with receiving stolen property, a felony punishable by up to 7-15 years in prison.
Police had no information on why the 2 men would be shopping for puppies so far from home.
