Abuse of Cats & kittens

Woburn, MA

Aug. 1998

Formerly of 715 Arboretum Way, Woburn MA now living in Gardner MA

Sharmy was an 8-day-old kitten that was found by a 15-year-old girl just after the kitten’s leg had been pulled off. The injury appeared to the Woburn Animal Hospital to have been several hours old, which meant the kitten, had been in pain for a long time. The kitten, a fluffy little gray and white male was named after the veterinarian who cared for him. The hospital felt the kitten would do best if kept with its mother so the mother cat was taken into custody, as were the three other kittens. They have all since been adopted.

No charges were ever filed against this family because no one in the apartment complex or the veterinarian wanted to be involved in a long drawn out trial. The family who reported the injured kitten has been mysteriously harassed and their car and other property vandalized over the past year. The police cannot do anything until the offending party is caught in the act.
