Adonnis
(deaf) was abandoned by his owner and
Sage
was found as a stray by NYPD. Both dogs were boarded at a facility in Queens
while awaiting adoption. The owner of the boarding facility relocated to Pennsylvania
and did not have room to transfer Adonnis and Sage. A representative from a
Dogo rescue contacted SNIP after viewing their photos and bios on Petfinder
and suggested the dogs be placed with an individual named Patti Fontana in Coplay,
Pennsylvania.
On July 4, 2005, SNIP transported the dogs to Fontana. SNIP provided a donation for acceptance and was informed the dogs would be placed for adoption. Several weeks later, SNIP inquired about the dogs and Patti Fontana was evasive and several times her story changed. The representative of the Dogo rescue was also evasive and not forthcoming with information. To this date, SNIP is unsure if Patti Fontana euthanized the dogs or if they met with a worse fate...dog fighting.
Patti Fontana promotes herself as a dog trainer. Patti Fontana may be in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or New York. Fontana has multiple tatoos. It is rumored many dog owners are also seeking to know Patti Fontana's whereabouts.
If you know where Patti Fontana is residing or you know what happened to Adonnis or Sage, please contact SNIP at SNIPNYC@aol.com or 917-658-4524.
