A man has been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly killed two dogs in central Queensland.

The 23-ear-old man was charged after an incident in North Rockhampton around 11.45pm (AEST) police said.

He was also charged with stealing, and is due to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 19.
