3 dogs neglected - another found dead - drugs seized

Dotson, age 22 was arrested at his home at 93 Kennedy Drive after neighbors called police and complained that his dogs had been left outside for a number of days.

Dotson has been charged with 2 counts of animal cruelty after one of the dogs was found dead outside.  Another dog was chained up and 2 others were roaming the property.  The chained dog, a boxer had flies swarming around exposed flesh wounds in its head, ears and tail.

Veterinarian Mark Music, DVM determined the deceased dog had suffered heat distress from being left in the sun without water and shade.  Food dishes were nowhere in sight but remnants of food were found scattered on the grounds.

Dotson was arrested and charged with an additional count of possession of a controlled substance after officers found marijuana during the search.  He was taken to Southwestern Regional Jail to be arraigned on July 20th, 2006.
