August 4, 2006

Randy Eugene Jackson, 39, of 6143 Gilbert School Road was charged by Greene County Animal Control Officer Johnny Exum on Monday, August 7th, with one count of animal cruelty after he was seen throwing kittens from the window of his truck Friday morning.

A witness told Officer Exum and Pitt County authorities that at least three kittens were thrown from Jackson’s truck as he traveled Edward’s Bridge Road into Pitt County about 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Jackson reached speeds of 65 mph near N.C.903.

Exum stated that none of the kittens were located in either county. The witness reported to authorities that at least one of the kittens appeared to have a broken leg, but all ran away when they hit the ground.
