On December 23rd,
Okanogan County Sheriff’s Deputies found a cockfight at a barn near
Five adults and a 15-year-old boy were taken into custody. 32-year old Rodrigo Martinez Garfia of Brewster was charged last week in Okanogan County Superior Court with animal fighting as an owner or spectator.
32-year-old Arturo Lopez Pacheco of Brewster; 41-year-old Salvador Rivas Morales of Brewster; 28-year-old Florentino Cisneros Perez of Loomis, and 25-year-old Celso Pascacio Pacheco of Loomis were charged with animal fighting as spectators.
Conviction for animal fighting, either as an owner or spectator, is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
Authorities found 25 live and 5 dead roosters in the barn.
