Syracuse police say a Graves Street man hanged a kitten and made a video of the animal struggling.
Rascell Williams , 22, of 303 Graves St., was alone with the cat on Halloween, according to his live-in girlfriend, Joanne Cichy. When she got home she couldn't find the cat.
(Photo courtesy of WPIX) The next
day she found a video on her digital camera showing the 4-month-old kitten hanging
from the apartment door with a belt around its neck. The video, police said,
shows the kitten struggling before going motionless.
The video also shows "Williams coming in an out of the video (next to the cat), as he attempts to better focus the camera."
Williams was charged with unjustifiable animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.
The kitten was found, alive, under the porch. Police said the cat had "injuries consistent with what was seen in the video."
Williams is no stranger to the police. On January 15, 2009, at age 21 he was charged with resisting arrest and 2nd degree harassment.
