Unknown Cat thrown from car onto Everett Turnpike, left for dead in rush hour traffic Nashua, NH Hillsborough County 7/12/06

On 7/12/06 a brown tabby cat was spotted in the high speed lane of the Everett Turnpike by passerby.  It was raining heavily and it was by shear luck that the cat was spotted at all - it was hunched down so deep into the road that it looked like a bunch of dirt.

The cat was rescued after about an hour with the help of both the State Police and the Nashua Police Department - because it was rush hour the highway had to be shutdown briefly to obtain the frightened, injured cat.

After the cat was rescued she was taken to the Emergency Clinic for evaluation.  Her injuries suggested that she had been thrown from a moving car.  The cat was rescued on a very rainy day so she was aptly named "Raina".

Update 11/15/06:

Raina has been adopted.
