Killed 750 aquarium fish |
Rochester, NH |
June 14, 2001 |
Two boys age 11 and 14 have been charged with the contamination death of 750 aquarium fish. The juveniles caused an estimated loss of $1,032 at the Wal-Mart store.
No apparent motive can be determined other than being mischievous. The juveniles did not have a vendetta against the store nor was alcohol a factor.
The Rochester, NH Crimeline received anonymous information that helped police charge the juveniles with criminal mischief. Had the boys been adults, they would have faced a fine of up to $4,000 and up to 7 years in jail.
No further information is available, as the case has now been turned over to the Rochester District Court juvenile division.
