Curtis
Mason, a Fort Steward soldier, stated he went to a pond behind
Savannah Tech to relax. A bag bobbing in the water caught his attention so
he waded out into knee high water to get it and found two puppies inside,
clinging to life. Mason had gone to the Walthourville pond off Airport
Road to relax when he spotted the pillowcase in the water.

of the side of his car door, cut the bag open and found the 2 pups inside.
Neither of the pups was conscious. Mason performed mouth-to-mouth
and chest compressions, but only one of the puppies survived. The other puppy
died at the Liberty County Humane Shelter. Someone had placed a big
rock inside the pillowcase along with the dogs.
Mason
is planning on adopting Lucky out of one of the soldiers in his battalion
in the 3rd Infantry Division.
Anyone
