He was taken into custody on Felony warrants related to the burglary at his ex-girlfriend’s home in late November. The warrants include mistreating an animal and burglary to a dwelling.  State police caught Kleiman near Escanaba Michigan. He was extradited to Wisconsin.

Green Bay police say Kleiman allegedly broke into his girlfriend’s duplex on Elmore Street in Green Bay and placed her 5 month old Pekingese poodle in a hot oven. Investigators now know the dog was baked alive.

Update 12/2/09:  The trial of a Green Bay man accused of killing a dog by baking it alive has been postponed until February.

Terry Kleiman is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and then baking her Pekinese-poodle mix alive.

A search warrant and affidavit filed in Brown County says the woman told Green Bay police that her ex-boyfriend was "extremely angry" over their breakup and was probably trying to get even with her. The woman returned home November 23 to a smoke-filled home. She discovered her 5-month-old dog in the hot oven. The affidavit says the man told friends he hated the dog because he was allergic to it and wanted to get back at his ex-girlfriend by hurting her dog.

Kleiman faces two felony charges including burglary and mistreatment of animals.

Update 2/11/10:  The trial for a 32-year-old man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's puppy by putting it in a hot oven in 2008 is expected to end today.

A 12-member jury to hear the case has been picked.

Terry Kleiman pleaded not guilty in Brown County Circuit Court to felony charges of burglary and mistreatment of animals. If convicted on both felonies, he faces up to 16 years in prison. Kleiman remains free after posting $2,500 bond.

A man who accompanied Kleiman to the Elmore Street home provided police with many of the details. Kleiman also said the other man put the dog in the oven, the complaint said.

Update 2/12/10:  The 12-member jury spent about an hour deliberating the case before reaching a verdict.  Now Kleiman faces up to 16 years in prison on felony charges of burglary and mistreatment of animals. Sentencing is set for March 26.  He was convicted of felony charges of burglary and mistreatment of animals.

Kleiman and his ex-girlfriend, Alex Rouse, both worked at the Oval Office Gentlemen's Club, and Kleiman left work before she did the night of the incident, according to the criminal complaint.

Rouse said she is satisfied with the verdict.  "If not Hulk, it may have been me," she said outside court. "Maybe he saved my life."

Judge William Atkinson revoked Kleiman's bond and ordered that he be taken into custody after the verdict was read.
