County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said deputies have worked with Cordie for a long
time, trying to encourage her to take better care of her horses. Two different
veterinarians, were consulted and examined the horses before the 3 quarter horse
mares were seized.
Because of the recent economic downturns and the possibility of more horse owners cutting back on the care of their animals, the Sheriff's have sent a detective to receive additional training in neglect and abuse cases at the Oregon Humane Society.
