Marty McManus, lead investigator for the Humane Society of Greater Dallas received a call from East Dallas Veterinary Hospital with information about a cat that had been found at George W. Truett Elementary School in East Dallas.
The cat had been found on the steps of one of the schools building surrounded by blood and severely burned. His ear had been burned off and his tail had been broken off. Lighter fluid and plastic ties were found. The plastic ties were used to tie the cats legs. The cat suffered an incredible amount of pain at the hands of some maliciously cruel individual(s).
The cat was transferred the next morning to Greenville Animal Hospital were it died from his injuring. The owners of the cat named Tiger were found because the cat had a microchip identification tag.
A reward fund has been set up for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. Currently the reward is $7,500.
The Humane Society of Greater Dallas is actively investigating this case. Anyone with information should contact Investigator Marty McManus at 214-343-3666. A Tiger Memorial Fund has been established to help keep resources available to continue the investigation.
