Seventeen dogs have been seized as part of an investigation into organised dogfighting, the RSPCA said. Ten adult dogs and seven puppies were taken in a raid on a property in Lye, Stourbridge, West Midlands. The dogs are understood to be in the care of West Midlands police. An RSPCA spokeswoman said the raid was part of a dogfighting operation and not connected to the death of five-year-old Ellie Lawrenson, who was killed by a dog of the pitbull terrier type in St Helens, Merseyside.
