About Us:
We are a grass roots - non-profit
group comprised of all volunteers, who give many many hours to sifting through
the data (i.e. case reports, newspapers, search engines, court records etc.
to find the information listed in this database. We rely entirely on donations
to do our work. We receive no local, state or federal funding. Your donations
are tax deductible. Our 501(C3) non-profit is on file with NH States' Attorney
Generals Office.
Our Founder and Executive
Director is:
2004-present Secretary
to NH Governor's Taskforce for the Humane Treatment of Animals
and 2007 Member of the
NH Federation of Humane Organizations
We offer the following services:
- We will research cruelty cases for you for legitimate purposes.
- We will provide students with information regarding animal
cruelty for their school reports. We do ask that you agree to credit us
with the research in your project. Provide us with your questions and we
will do our best to answer them for you.
- We will help you find the necessary people to report animal
cruelty to assist in getting a case into court.
- We will assist any animal advocacy organization in regard
to a potential adopter, to see if that potential adopter may possibly have
been convicted of animal cruelty.
Our available lectures are:
- on the connection between animal cruelty and human violence
- on the history of animal rights
- on animal hoarding as an illness
- on puppymills
- on juvenile arsonists
Our Goals:
1. To provide database information
on animal cruelty cases.
2. To help animal adoption agencies
use the website as a clearinghouse for
verifying if a potential adopter may have abused an animal in another state
and is now trying to adopt from that agency.
3. To educate the public about
the realities of animal abuse, and the
connection between animal cruelty and violence against humans in society.
4. To promote a loving and responsible
relationship between humans and animals.
5. To encourage everyone to take
animal cruelty seriously.
6. To monitor and review reports
of animal cruelty from across the country.
7. To assist legislators and activists
in communities throughout the United
States
as they seek to enact and strengthen animal cruelty laws.
8. To provide alerts, petitions
and pending legislation information
9. To provide the public with US
cruelty laws.
We need your help
- volunteers to:
Sift through newspaper articles
across the United
States
to find animal abusers. You can do this either by hard copy newspapers or
through search engines on your computer. When you find an article, send it
to us.
- Listen for tips about animal abusers, on your local news,
on the radio. When you hear about it - let us know.
- Follow-up leads on "Alleged Animal Abusers" -
research the case, follow the case from the time the abuser is charged to
the court case and sentencing and let us know about it.
- Help distribute our brochure and get the word out there
that we exist. Send us the addresses of your local animal control officers,
veterinarians, animal shelters, humane organization, etc.
- Be a liaison for our organization with the Police, Sheriff,
Humane Society, Animal Control Officer etc. in your town, city or state. Talk to
them about us and ask that they give us abusers info for our website.
- Help with the legal issues. Do you know of a lawyer or lawyers
that would be willing to argue animal cruelty cases on behalf of the victim.
Or assist our board with legal questions, or counsel.
- Fundraising - we can't do this alone - organize a can deposit
drive or yard sale to help defer expenses.
- Public relations - let it be known we exist and will not
tolerate animal abuse. Further that we want to get help for the children
who abuse animals. If we can turn these kids around then just maybe we won't
have a future mass murderer.
- Search your local newspapers for "Free to a good home"
ads - call them and let them know about the nearest no kill animal shelter
to send those cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets etc. too. Did you know that most
animal abusers get their animals from these ads!
