A 13-year-old boy was convicted of cutting the eyes out of a yellow Labrador retriever and ordered to serve an indefinite term in a state facility for juvenile delinquents.
District Judge
The boy was found guilty in Juvenile Court in November 2000 but had been placed in his parent's custody under house arrest pending sentencing.
After a psychiatric evaluation
the boy could end up at a state juvenile center in either Caliente
or Elko or possibly be in a lockdown psychiatric facility according to The
Chief Deputy District Attorney for Lyon County,
Nevada is one of 14 states that allow the courts to order counseling for animal abusers.
