Opinion Forum -- Turkey hunter shot by brother
From nhcatlady - here is another argument for why hunting is not humane. These two yahoo's as well as many people who claim to be hunters should not be allowed to carry, own or use a gun. They are a danger to themselves, you and me and the animals - this country does enough to provide people with meat (but that is another subject for being inhumane). "Hey Josh now you know the pain the bird feels being shot but not killed."
This was an article from the Associated Press on 5/5/09: A Sullivan man is recovering after his brother shot him in a hunting accident.
The NH state fish and game department says 27-year-old Josh Lazzaro and his 29-year-old brother, Scott, were both shooting at the same turkey without realizing they were in each others' line of fire.
Josh Lazzaro was hit with several bird shot pellets in the upper body. His injuries were not life-threatening, but officials say the incident illustrates the need to be sure of not only your target, but what's beyond it.
